Job Description: The Assistant Director for New Student Orientation will be responsible for leading and implementing orientation programs for first-year and transfer students, ensuring these initiatives promote academic success, inclusion, and student connections. This role involves coordinating program logistics, collaborating with campus partners, and supervising the Orientation Leader team and student coordinators.
Additionally, the Assistant Director will oversee volunteer efforts for Welcome Week, manage social media strategies for the office, liaise with Central Marketing and Communications, and advise the OrangeSeeds student organization. This position plays a key role in shaping a positive and welcoming experience for new students from their first day on campus.

Responsibilities:
Co-develop and implement new student orientation programs for first-year and transfer students, inclusive of content, scheduling, campus collaborations, logistics, and day-of program coordination. Ensure all program aspects include academic support, inclusive programming, inclusive small group curriculum designed to encourage students' curiosity about campus and their peers and create spaces to form connections for various student populations.
Recruit, train, and supervise Orientation Leader team and NODA Intern by providing evaluation and feedback efforts, creating their work schedule and responsibilities, and supervise student coordinators responsible for peer-supervision to the team.
Advise OrangeSeeds student organization executive board; support implementation and logistics for 'The Big Event.'
Lead volunteer recruitment and training for Welcome Week inclusive of over 600 student volunteers and 150 staff volunteers. Provide support, scheduling, and direction during New Student Move-In. Share staff-leadership responsibilities for signature events during Welcome Week.
Lead social media strategies for orientation and Welcome Week, liaising with Central Marketing and Communications and Student Experience Marketing and Communications to align with the brand.
