As Assistant Dean of Students, this position coordinates Clery Act compliance, responds to student issues as they arise, and provides oversight as the principle designated school official for international student services. This position leads University Title IX efforts as the institution's Title IX coordinator through comprehensive institutional programs, training, independent decision making, and advocacy.
This is a regular, full-time position, with a hy-flex work arrangement during the summer months. During the academic year, some evening and weekend work may be required. This position reports to the Vice President for Student Affairs.
Essential Duties Include:
Coordinate response for student concerns, provide student advocacy, team leadership, and training. Also provide training for campus community members.
Ensure compliance with all federal regulations regarding Bellarmine's international student and scholar programs.
Work as a Division of Student Affairs team member to assure comprehensive support for the Division of Student Affairs.
Serve as a student conduct investigator and/or advocate in matters unrelated to Title IX.
Serve as Chief Title IX Officer:
Direct institutional comprehensive compliance by assessing institutional policy, developing initiatives, delivering education and training for all campus constituents including oversight of the community of care campaign.
Identify institutional risk and exposure related to Title IX compliance, insuring prompt, and equitable response to reports of sex discrimination, including sexual harassment, sexual assault, sexual violence, and other sexual misconduct. This includes regular review of the Student Handbook, conduct procedures, and Employee Handbook.
Supervise and facilitate a team of deputy coordinators.
Oversee investigation processes for complaints of sexual assault, sexual violence, sex/gender discrimination and other sexual misconduct, working collaboratively with human resources, the Dean of Students Office, Public Safety, local law enforcement and external stakeholders.
Create and implement the campus Title IX compliance plan in collaboration with key stakeholders.
Identify and arrange training for advocate services, decision makers, and investigators.
Serve as a liaison to external constituents.
Serve on student affairs on-call rotation once every five to six weeks.
Partner with Public Safety Office staff members to compile and submit the annual Campus Safety and Security Report (Clery) utilizing data from the Dean of Students, Residence Life, Public Safety, and local law enforcement.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
Master's degree in college student personnel, juris doctor, or related field required; terminal degree preferred
Minimum five years of related work experience
The appreciation for and ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
Good administrative skills and ability to maintain confidentiality
High attention to detail
Good organizational and interpersonal communication skills necessary to handle multiple tasks, while accommodating unexpected needs
Interest and effectiveness in working with college students and building relationships
Preferred qualifications:
Experience conducting Title IX investigations
Knowledge of federal and state non-discrimination laws and regulations
Previous experience participating in administrative hearings
