Job Description:
As an integral part of the leadership of the Division of Student Affairs, the Executive Director of Student Engagement and Leadership will oversee the Center for Student Engagement & Leadership and Sorority & Fraternity Life, as well as serve as the university's leadership development expert. Areas of responsibility include: institution wide student leadership development, student organizations (550+), campus-wide programming, sorority and fraternity life, student government, and overall comprehensive student engagement. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs, this position both leads and provides leadership development for all OHIO students and is responsible for developing a culture of social justice, inclusion and respect throughout CSEL and SFL.
Primary Responsibilities:
1) The Executive Director is responsible for leading the strategy and oversight (including delivery of services, programs, and resources) of the Center for Student Engagement & Leadership (CSEL) and Sorority & Fraternity Life (SFL). Develops and upholds the mission, vision, strategic priorities, and unit goals for CSEL and SFL. Leads the development/management of CSEL and SFL budgets. Drives performance and delivery of programs, services and resources for leadership development, student organizations, campus programming, and SFL. Assesses and evaluates CSEL and SFL programs and services. Serves on division and university wide committees and leadership work groups.
2) Lead all leadership development services and resources for Ohio University undergraduate and graduate students (including RHE and Online), including: Coordinate leadership development across CSEL and SFL. CSEL and SFL are centralized units that provide engagement, involvement, sense of belonging, and leadership development for all Ohio University students. Coordinate leadership development across student affairs and partner with colleagues across colleges and units. Collaborate with faculty, administrators, and students to develop and effectively promote leadership services and events for students. Work collaboratively with other institution stakeholders to provide a well-considered and coordinated leadership development plan for Ohio University. Expand Ohio University student engagement in leadership activities. Enable Ohio University students to develop and articulate leadership skills to employers. Partner with Career Services on leadership competency awareness, development, and articulation. Maintain accurate records and prepare reports related to leadership development.
3) Create and deliver leadership development programs and services. Expand Ohio University student engagement in leadership activities. Oversee the facilitation of leadership education trainings. Utilize technology and resources to guide students through the leadership development process. Collaborate with academic units and departments, campus offices, faculty, and staff to develop leadership co-curricular and/or in-class activities and programs.
4) Supervise, train, and evaluate professional and graduate staff and ensure staff meets organizational objectives and institutional requirements. Directly supervise two Directors and leads a staff of six professional staff, GA's and 22 undergraduate student employees. Leads the development and management of CSEL and SFL budgets. Oversee program expenditures for annual budget which may include resource allocation as well as external grants.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree
Experience connecting leadership development to career development and competency development.
History of partnering with campus constituencies, including colleges (faculty and college student services).
8 years of work-related experience
6 years of supervisory experience
**An equivalent combination of a bachelor's and 10+ years of experience may be considered.

The target salary range is $80,593 to $108,801 commensurate with the selected candidate's education and experience while considering internal equity.
