Department Summary
The Executive Director works in conjunction with the Faculty Director. Expected to set the strategic priorities of the program. The Executive Director works autonomously and exercises independent judgment in all operational responsibilities. Position Summary
The Executive Director of the Master of Financial Engineering program establishes and executes the strategic goals and objectives for the Master of Financial Engineering Program at UCLA Anderson School of Management, including all matters relating to programmatic initiatives, marketing, recruiting, admissions, administration of student affairs and program operations, career services, and employer and alumni relations. Responsibilities include: (1) devising strategies for, directing and targeting multi-phase and multi-media marketing efforts to support attracting a broad, skilled and diverse applicant pool, (2) recruiting, admitting and orienting an annual cohort of 95-100 students, (3) student service management, counseling, and conflict resolution, (4) career services planning and placement, (5) management of employer and alumni relations, (6) Personnel management, including hiring, discipline, supervision resource allocation and re-structuring, (7) strategic and operational planning, including budget, revenue management and strategy behind the program's competitive position, (8) academic planning and strategy in conjunction with the MFE Faculty Director. This position manages student cycle from admissions to graduation; program management and development, strategic planning, academic policy implementation, faculty coordination, student and corporate outreach, student affairs administration and advising, marketing strategies and planning, career services offerings and alumni relations. The ideal candidate will have an MBA with Finance Specialization, MFE, Masters in Finance, PhD and/or EdD, with extensive knowledge of the Financial Services Industry and experience in academic program administration.

Salary & Compensation

MBA/MFE/PHD Practice Working knowledge of MBA/MFE/PHD program promotion practices. (Preferred)
Selective Admissions Demonstrated working knowledge of selective admissions processes in higher education setting. (Preferred)
UC Experience Working knowledge of Anderson, UCLA and UC systems. (Preferred)
Web-Based Applications Strong working knowledge of internet and web-based applications (Ingenix, Dreamweaver, and HTML) to create web pages, manage search engine algorithms, and create on-line content. (Preferred)
Professional Professional demeanor and attitude in order to communicate with executive-level recruiters and student body as a representative of UCLA Anderson. (Required)
Collaboration Ability to work with faculty on academic issues and translate into operation. (Required)
Recruitment Ability to conceptualize, develop and implement innovative campus recruitment services appropriate for MFE students. (Required)

Excellent communication skills, both oral and written, to relate complex information clearly, concisely and diplomatically. (Required)
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills in order to interface with external and internal constituencies, including corporate and media representatives, UCLA Anderson alumni, administrative staff, faculty, and students. (Required)
Demonstrated skill in making oral presentations before large and small groups of people informatively and persuasively to recruit participants and market the program. (Required)
Demonstrated ability to write, edit and design policy documents, websites, brochures, and advertising materials. (Required)
Ability to conduct market research on MFE programs, demographics and other external drives and create effective marketing plans to attract qualified students. (Required)
Proven ability to counsel students about academic and non-academic matters. (Required)
Education, Licenses, Certifications & Personal Affiliations
PhD MBA with Finance Specialization, MFE, Masters in Finance, PhD and/or EdD, with extensive knowledge of Financial Services Industry. Working knowledge of MFE, MBA and PHD programs and academic programs. (Preferred)
