JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:The Student Services Coordinator assists students, departments, and the Colleges with aspects of graduation, degree audits, academic progress, and Programs of Study at the University of Tennessee Health Science Center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Updates and changes the degree audit system due to course or curricular changes approved by Academic Affairs.
Maintains and processes satisfactory academic progress through the automated degree audit system.
Manages graduation and completion requirements, including processing all substitutions and waivers, for credentialing at UTHSC.
Operates the University Imaging System to store, retrieve, and interpret information.
Assists departments in academic evaluations and supports student file maintenance.
Serves as liaison between university administrators, alumni, students, parents, faculty, staff, and others regarding Office of the University Registrar activities.
Responds to inquiries from students, alumni, third party vendors, and employers requesting verification of attendance/graduation.
Fulfills requests for transcripts, verification of attendance and graduation, scanning and filling of documents consistent with FERPA rules and regulations.
Implements, interprets, and advises internal and external constituencies regarding university policies, procedures, and state and federal privacy laws and regulations pertaining to academic records retrieval and release.
Recommends and drafts new and improved business process and systems to manage academic records administration effectively.
Facilitates the compilation of information, such as class schedules and Program of Study guidelines for publication in school bulletins and catalogs, in order to ensure compliance with accreditation standards.
Collects and analyzes data for UTHSC reporting purposes.
Performs other duties work on special projects as assigned
