Job Description:
Oversees and provides leadership and supervision of the Student Engagement & Development office; co-leads the Student Success Team. Co-advises the Student Government Association and serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. In coordination with the Dean of Students Office, the Associate Dean of Students advances the University's commitment to student success, retention, and graduation efforts by researching, developing, and implementing holistic student success initiatives. Reports to the Associate Vice President for Student Affairs and Dean of Students and serves as a Division of Student Affairs Leadership Team member.

Provides leadership and supervision of the office of Student Engagement & Development, including oversight of fraternity & sorority life, student organizations and leadership, and other departmental initiatives, budgets and programming. Oversees the coordination and evaluation of professional and student staff. Oversees areas with a budget of at least $440,000.
Works with the AVP and Dean of Students to collaborate and coordinate with Academic Affairs to develop a student success strategy and ensure student success initiatives are aligned across divisions.
Supervises the Director of Student Engagement. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with all policies and applicable laws. Interviews, hires and trains employees; plans, assigns, and directs work; creates work schedules and conducts performance appraisals, counsels, and disciplines employees; addresses complaints and resolves problems.
Co-leads and prepares for the weekly Student Success Team (SST) i.e. meeting for students of concern based on academic early alerts. Participates in follow-up, case management and student care plans.
Co-advises the Student Government Association (SGA) with the AVP and Dean of Students. Provides advisory support to the SGA Vice President and recurring financial processes, including the distribution and allocation of the Student Activity Fee (SAF).
Serves on-call with the Dean of Students Office; responds to student issues and emergencies, including through the Student Success Team and the Behavioral Intervention Team. Engages with campus partners as needed to mitigate risk, provide student support as well as coordinate and manage student conduct and compliance cases.
Serves as a Deputy Title IX Coordinator. In consultation with the Director of Equal Opportunity Services & Title IX Coordinator, facilitates intake and reporting from student complainants; serves as process advisor; and develops and implements supportive measures.
ADDITIONAL DUTIES
Collaborates with other Student Affairs staff and participates in the life of the University by serving on committees, attending functions, and being available for special assignments.

Five years of progressively responsible student services work.
Experience within a University setting working with highly complex issues and situations.
Excellent interpersonal and communication (written and oral) skills and demonstrated ability to interact with a variety of faculty, students, staff, alumni, and other constituents.
Demonstrated background in leading collaborative efforts between multiple entities.
Demonstrated understanding of underrepresented groups and initiatives that enhance efforts related to graduation and retention.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS
Required:
