The Swenson College of Science and Engineering Program Education Specialist 1 position would lead the logistical implementation and program assessment and evaluation for four signature programs in the college: the Learning Assistants program, the Sustainability LLC, the Summer Math Bridge Program and the Transfer Student Mentoring program.
This is an in-person position. The salary range for this position is $44,155 - $66,086 depending on qualifications and experience.
Responsibilities of this position include:
60% Program Development and Support
Assessment and evaluation of programs for both internal and external use
Serve as contact person for programs and respond to student and/or campus partner needs
Oversight of budget expenditures
Communicate with faculty involved in programs
Develop and implement signature community building activities
Assist in the development of policies and procedures related to student participation in programs
30% Student Recruitment and Oversight
Recruitment of new UMD students to participate in the programs.
Recruitment of current UMD students to serve as mentors, workers, etc
Hiring of UMD students, including tracking of paperwork completion and raises
10% Instruction and Outreach
Teach UST 1000 courses for Sustainability LLC and Transfer Students
Maintain publicity via website and social media
Required Qualifications
BA/BS in relevant field and 3 or more years of related professional experience. Knowledge of principles and methods, or related masterâ™s degree with proven ability to perform job.

Demonstrated organizational, problem solving, and planning skills
Interest in STEM disciplines
Experience working with students directly in programmatic efforts
Background in student affairs or higher education
Maintain relationships with campus partners to ensure success of programmatic efforts
