Rowan-Virtua School of Osteopathic Medicine is seeking a Chair, for the newly established Department of Medical Education and Scholarship. This department will centralize faculty with critical teaching roles in multiple educational programs, focusing on the School’s educational mission. Faculty without clinical duties, including basic scientists, physicians, and other instructors, will be a part of this department. The goal is to increase the visibility of quality teaching, enable integration of disciplines, and foster research collaborations and funding opportunities across campuses. This department will also showcase medical education to the broader community, attract collaborations, and secure various funding sources.
Given the need for an evidence-based approach to teaching and assessment, faculty with expertise in instruction, curriculum development, educational research, and evaluation are crucial. The role involves addressing the increased demand for educational accountability and navigating the complexities imposed by accreditation agencies.
This is a full-time faculty position located on our Stratford, NJ campus. This position will oversee a cohort of medical educators and promote educational excellence and scholarship. This position reports to the Senior Associate Dean of Academic Affairs and Student Services.
