The Assistant Director of Residence Life (ADRL) is a full-time professional staff member with live-in responsibilities. Three ADRLs are responsible for the comprehensive management of the residential program. This position focuses on developing the ADRL’s residential community, while overseeing large-scale departmental initiatives.
The ADRL reports to the Director of Residence Life
Specific Responsibilities:
Oversee a residential community of approximately 500 students
Develop educational area plan for residential community within the parameters oof the Ursinus QUEST and residential curriculum
Collaborate with faculty and campus partners to support students and increase educational opportunities in residential community
Participate in an all campus on-call duty rotation
Serve as a conduct hearing officer for conduct cases, as needed
Manage resident concerns in area and help in developing plans to support students
Assist with housing lottery and assignment processes
Serve as a role model and mentor for students
Liaise with Student Affairs Partners, Facilities, Campus Safety, and more to advocate for the most positive residential experience for students possible.
Assume project manager role for departmental initiatives, such as opening and closing, key room management, RA recruitment selection and training, housing lottery and selection, and summer programs
Qualifications:
Master’s Degree
Previous Residence Life experience
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
An understanding of residential liberal education
Basic counseling skills
