Position Information: The Assistant Director is responsible for assisting in the oversight and management of the Student Conduct and Academic Integrity Programs office for the campus. This includes: Managing the student conduct system and processes for alleged academic and non-academic violations including student violations of Title IX-related and other anti-discrimination policies, educating the campus community about the student conduct and academic integrity processes; serving as a resource and consultant to students, faculty and staff; investigating and adjudicating complaints and grievances, maintaining confidential records, and ensuring institutional compliance and reporting. The Assistant Director will assist in management of an annual budget in excess of $740,000 and supervision of professional and paraprofessional staff and volunteers. They will have responsibility for day-to-day direct supervision of 2 - 4 professional Conduct Coordinators. The Assistant Director is a primary liaison to UCR Housing Services/Residential Education, coordinates adjudication for cases of alleged violations of the University Standards of Conduct that occur in campus housing facilities, and coordinates educational outreach activities and development of office resources, including written materials, website information, and training/workshops. Manages the program's comprehensive online database and data reporting (Symplicity Advocate).
The salary range for the Assistant Director of Student Conduct & Academic Integrity Programs is $64,300 - $114,300 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is up to $101,800 annually. We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.
Applicants must have current work authorization when accepting a UCR staff position. Currently, we are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa for staff.

Case Management: Utilize knowledge of theory, current research and practice in student development and student learning, and conflict resolution in review and resolution of academic and social misconduct violations by students, in a department that responds to approximately 1200+ referrals annually. Liaison with University Housing/Residential Education and coordinate adjudication of cases involving alleged violations in residential areas. Ensure consistent, responsible and timely administration of student conduct discipline cases on campus, taking into account campus safety needs, the rights of the individual and other legal requirements, and the provision of opportunities for student development. Accept, evaluate, investigate, adjudicate (or refer to College Academic Integrity or Student Conduct Committees for adjudication) and determine sanctions for cases of student misconduct in accordance with appropriate University policies and process. Refer and present cases to the College Academic Integrity or Student Conduct Committees for adjudication and to the Appeals Panel for cases involving Sexual Violence/Sexual Assault. Advise Conduct Committees. In consultation with the Director, collaborate with the UCR Office of Civil Rights in cases involving allegations of sexual assault, sexual harassment and/or gender discrimination under Title IX, and Discrimination to ensure appropriate help and support to the complainant and/or respondent. Consult with the Director and SCAIP staff on a weekly basis to ensure educational orientation, consistency, timeliness and fairness in the discipline process. Assist in managing the campus student conduct system for over 26,000 students based on a developmental and progressive response to alleged violations and according to university policies.

Outreach, Education & Training: In consultation with the Director, work collaboratively with faculty, staff and students to assess current issues and concerns with the University community and develops programs, workshops, and seminars to address them.
Design and coordinate outreach presentations on student conduct generally, and specifically, to various constituencies including, but not limited to faculty, staff, teaching assistants, housing athletics, student organizations and new student orientation.
Develop, promote, coordinate and present student outreach programs that encourage community development and enhance appreciation for responsible behavior and good citizenship.
Represent SCAIP at appropriate campus-wide forums, presentations, and training sessions.
Liaison Activities: Build and maintain positive working relationships with various offices at UCR, including all academic departments and faculty, the colleges, Admissions, Registrar, Financial Aid, Housing, Police and all units in student affairs.
Serve on University committees, task forces and work groups as assigned and report committee actions and personal responsibilities to Director.
