Provides strategic leadership and oversight to the unit. The Director is responsible for the development, direction, implementation and promotion of comprehensive Student Experiences initiatives and provides administrative oversight of the unit, including supervising staff, direct and indirect advising, support, risk management, direction to assigned governing councils, overseeing budget, and setting priorities.
Directs and implements Student Experiences activities, programs and services which includes Student Programming Council (SPC), Registered Student Organizations Council (RSOC), Student Organizations, Black Student Union (BSU), Homecoming, Programming events, Student Leadership training, and Campus Ministry.
Oversees the planning of departmental signature programs.
Conducts assessment and evaluation analyzing the effectiveness of Student Experiences services and programs.
Serves as primary contact for Student Experiences matters.
Provides administrative oversight of the unit, including supervising staff, and direct/indirect advising. Hires, supervises and evaluates aligned staff including student employees/graduate students and ensures each receives the training and support needed to be successful in achieving job requirements.
Oversees related program development, provides direction and vision for leadership and oversees related budgets. Develops programs and initiatives that support the evolving needs of students in Student Experience.
Oversees development and distribution of online and printed publications and marketing materials.
Supports accountability process for student group misconduct including monitoring organizational standards and completion of assigned sanctions.
Works collaboratively with other campus stakeholders to fulfill the mission of division of Academic and Student and Student Life and Development. Represents the University at meetings and conferences as appropriate.
Participates in the development and implementation of related Student Experiences strategic goals and objectives. Participates in and/or leads Student Life and Development and/or the Division of Academic and Student Affairs initiatives promoting student success and other priorities as assigned.
Supervises the development and implementation of campus activities including lectures, programs, concerts, school spirit events and theme weeks.
Maintains a high degree of contact with the public on a regular basis to include students, faculty, staff and members of the community.
Assists Student Experiences staff in preparation of A&S budget requests and proposals.
Oversees the fiscal aspects of Student Experiences, including the development of the department budget, procurement of funding from different sources monitoring of expenditures and accountability for positive account balance.
Responsible for learning outcomes, assessment, annual reports, and all other departmental reporting.
Has access to confidential information related to student records as well as personnel information. Is responsible for maintaining confidentiality in accordance with federal, state, local and University rules, laws and regulations Maintains student records related to Student Activities and organizations.
Performs essential duties during any emergencies, such as hurricanes, storms and/or any other University emergency closing. Is expected to be available to report to work as needed during university emergency closings with appropriate notification by department administrator.
Performs other related duties as assigned or as directed by supervisor. The omission of specific duties does not preclude the supervisor from assigning duties that are logically related to the position.
Master's degree and six (6) years of experience in an associated discipline with experience of progressively responsible management experience, having significant business impact.
