Position Overview: | The Coordinator will be a key player in identifying and engaging prospective students. Their initiatives will be instrumental in ensuring their academic success and satisfaction in their educational experience. They will work closely with academic departments across UMBC, representing our programs and showcasing the diverse career opportunities available to students. They will also be responsible for organizing and executing targeted recruitment events on and off campus. |

Responsibilities: | - Articulate the school's unique vision and offerings to prospective students, parents, guidance counselors, and other stakeholders through various communication platforms.
- Develop and implement innovative strategies to attract and enroll high-achieving students in our various undergraduate and graduate programs in aging studies.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for students, faculty, and staff regarding program-related inquiries and provide prompt assistance and solutions.
- Provide support and guidance to current students to ensure successful progression and satisfaction through their academic program.
- Serve as a liaison with other programs and departments across UMBC and external groups that enhance the student experience and their satisfaction.
- Collaborate with the marketing and communications team to create and distribute promotional materials, social media content, and other recruitment materials.
- Plan and execute outreach events on and off campus to engage with potential students to effectively communicate the uniqueness of the Erickson School's programs and career opportunities in aging.
- Work closely with academic advisors and faculty to develop programs and initiatives that support student success and enhance retention rates.
- Conduct surveys and gather feedback to measure student satisfaction.
- Utilize data and analytics to track recruitment and enrollment trends, identify opportunities for improvement, and develop strategies to meet enrollment goals.
- Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, high schools, and other relevant institutions to increase the school's visibility and attract diverse and talented students.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date student enrollment records, grades, and program evaluations.
- Collaborate with faculty members to support curriculum development, course scheduling, and assessment activities.
- Prepare reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing student enrollment data and trends.
- Other duties as assigned.

Required Minimum Qualifications: | A Bachelor's degree preferably in communications, marketing, education, or a related field is required. - Minimum of 3 years of experience in program coordination, student recruitment, admissions, or a related role preferably within the higher education industry.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement successful recruitment strategies.
- Excellent verbal, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact professionally with diverse audiences.
- A strong customer service orientation and attention to detail.
- Experience with computer software programs such as Microsoft Office, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel.
- Proficient in using social media and other digital platforms for student recruitment.
- Knowledge of data and analytics tools
- Must have strong organizational skills with the ability to establish priorities, manage multiple demands and projects, and meet deadlines.
Note: Requires availability to occasionally work or meet in the evenings and/or on weekends. Requires the ability to travel and participate in meetings, conferences, and other activities. |
Preferred Qualifications: | - Master's degree in communications, marketing, education, or a related field is preferred.
- Knowledge and passion for the field of aging studies.
- Knowledge of PeopleSoft system helpful.

Salary: | Salary: $56,000 - $62,720 depending on qualifications and experience. The salary of the finalist(s) selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, internal equity, budget, prior experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business considerations. The above salary range represents the University’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. |
