The Tutoring Assistant is part of the Tutoring Center within the Enrollment Management & Student Success division. The primary responsibility of this role is to serve as the first point of contact for those visiting the Tutoring Center and provide excellent customer service. This position is also responsible for maintaining accurate records of appointments and walk-in sessions, assisting in all departmental communication over email and phone, supporting daily subject coverage by tutoring when necessary, and performing other duties key to the successful daily operation of the Tutoring Center.
Staff the Tutoring Center check-in desk during scheduled shifts to provide a positive, welcoming experience for students seeking assistance.
Clearly and effectively communicate information about tutoring services to those visiting the Tutoring Center.
Monitor student walk-in traffic and maintain accurate records of unscheduled sessions.
Book and confirm student appointments using internal scheduling software.
Assist with all department email communication, including monitoring and responding to inquiries and requests submitted to the Tutoring Center inbox.
Respond to incoming phone calls to provide accurate information and assistance regarding tutoring services.
Assist with coverage in the Tutoring Center by providing students with subject tutoring when necessary.
Works with the Tutoring Center Manager to support the onboarding and training of new part-time staff members in the Tutoring Center.
Availability to work during scheduled shifts to support department operations and service to students, including evening and/or weekend support.
Perform other duties as assigned.

Education Required: High school diploma or equivalent required, an Associate?s or Bachelor?s degree preferred.
Experience Required: At least one (1) year working in student services or in a customer service environment

Ability to engage and contribute effectively in planning, organizing, and scheduling using current technology.
Ability to work independently with minimum supervision.
Experience in working with students, staff, and faculty of diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
Efficient time management skills and a commitment to serving the college community.
