Summary of Duties:
This position assists the Director of Auxiliary Facilities Services in the oversight, management and administration functions for Auxiliary Facilities Services Maintenance Operations within Student Affairs Facilities. Duties include, but are not limited to plan, direct and supervise the activities within the AFS unit; budgeting, short and long-range capital planning; and oversight of the day-to-day administrative support of activities. This position serves as point of operational and administrative contact for internal and external constituencies.
Positions require a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in a related field which has included at least two (2) years of management experience. A Master's degree in a relevant field may be substituted for up to one (1) year of the required experience. Any combination of relevant education and experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.
Demonstrated computer software skills, including the ability to use Microsoft Office programs such as Outlook, Word, Excel and Access.
Demonstrated experience interpreting and applying laws rules, policies and procedures.
Demonstrated ability to read and interpret project/building blueprints and specifications.
Experience with maintenance management systems and software.
Possession of, or ability to obtain by the time of hire, a valid driver's license.
Experience in higher education environment.
Experience in Housing and Dining Maintenance.
Experience as a journey trades worker, which includes two years in a lead or supervisory capacity.
Experience in strategic planning, formulation, design, implementation and tracking.
Experience creating/auditing administrative procedures and internal controls.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.
