This role will play a vital part in advancing the mission of a new leadership initiative in partnership with the Novak Leadership Institute. This position will report to the Vice Chancellor for Student Affairs with a dotted line to the Novak Leadership Institute Executive Director. Responsibilities: - Collaboration and Execution: Working hand-in-hand with the Novak Leadership Institute, academic departments, administrative staff, and student leaders, you will actively participate in designing and executing an impactful cross-campus leadership curriculum based on the Columns of Student Learning and Development framework . By fostering strong cross-campus collaborations, you will ensure a cohesive approach to connecting leadership experiences and creating a common leadership language across our University.
- Strategic Communication Development: Collaborating closely with our marketing and communications team, you will be responsible for developing, implementing, and managing strategic communication initiatives aimed at promoting the University of Missouri Leadership Edge program, as well as conveying its mission and values effectively. Your expertise will help create compelling narratives that resonate with our diverse student body.
- Research-Based and Data-Influenced Decision Making: In collaboration with the Division of Student Affairs assessment team, you will leverage current research and data analytics to evaluate the impact and efficacy of campus leadership programs and communication strategies continually. By drawing insights from data, you will be instrumental in refining and optimizing outreach efforts and evidence-based leadership opportunities that promote student success, engagement, and belonging.
- External Partnerships: Building and nurturing relationships with media outlets and strategic partners will be a key aspect of your role. Your proficiency in fostering meaningful connections will ensure the effective dissemination of key messages about the Leadership Edge program, elevating its visibility and impact.
- Student Recognition: Working closely with internal teams, you will actively highlight and celebrate student achievements and success stories. By recognizing and amplifying their accomplishments, you will underscore the significance of leadership experiences across our campus community.
- Consultation: Monitor progress and offer advice and expertise to campus leadership programs and experiences to ensure significant educational benefits for student participants. Encourage a variety of approaches to leadership development based on institutional priorities and Divisional strategic plans.
Shift 40 hour per week with nights and weekends possible based on departmental and university needs.
