The Towson University Counseling Center (TUCC) seeks to fill an Outreach, Prevention and General Specialist position. This position will develop and implement psychoeducational outreach programming for the campus community focused on improving and maintaining psychological well-being, prevention of mental health problems, and raising awareness of mental health resources on campus. The individual selected for this position will also serve on University committees where appropriate and participate in other aspects of the Counseling Center’s mission as assigned.

Telework may be available for this position up to two days per week following the completion of 90 days of service in good standing.
Responsibilities and Duties
Outreach and Consultation: Develops and implements psychoeducational outreach programming for the campus community focused on improving and maintaining psychological wellbeing, prevention of mental health problems, and raising awareness of mental health resources on campus. Manages peer education groups. Helps with ongoing development of digital mental health content that can be delivered through social media, the TUCC website, digital signs, etc. Student Affairs and University-Wide Participation: Participates in the Student Affairs Division and supports the University mission in a variety of ways, such as collaborating with other departments on campus, attending university functions, and serving on task forces and committees as assigned. Psychological Services (optional): As time allows beyond outreach responsibilities, provides psychological services to students, faculty, and staff on both a regular and emergency basis, and when necessary, during non-traditional hours. Provides clinical consultation to students and their families, and to the campus in support of the mental health of the campus. Adheres to agency standards regarding case management, documentation, and parameters of service. Other duties as assigned.
Work Schedule: Standard business hours of the center are 8:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday, however, after hours and weekend coverage may be required for performance of outreach and consultation programs and services.
Qualifications and Skills
Master’s or doctoral degree in psychology, counseling, health education and promotion, public health, or related field.
Experience in a college or University Counseling center is preferred.
Salary and Benefits
Targeted Hiring Range is $55,000 - $60,000 and full University benefits that include 22 days of annual leave, up to 15 holidays, personal and sick days; excellent health, life, and retirement plans; and tuition remission.
