The Executive Director of the Evening/Weekend MBA program owns the leadership and oversight of the program to outside organizations and to Haas faculty, staff, and students. Serves as the program leader to over 1,000 students in multiple distinct delivery formats including in person on site, off-site, international, and online during their three-year experience. Oversees all administrative operations, finance, human resources, and facilities for both academic and student experience responsibilities. Leads faculty in short-term planning, in the development of procedures, and in the formulation of major program components, administering the full range of the program's operational requirements. Develops long-term plans and enhancements to the programs including offerings with 32 leading global universities as part of the Global Network for Advanced Management.

Responsibilities
Leadership and oversight of the Haas Evening and Weekend MBA program.
Directs and administers an independent program with ownership of administrative and programmatic responsibility:
Assesses, implements, and manages the full academic and student experience for the Evening & Weekend MBA program based upon a wide-ranging understanding of graduate business educational programs, student development, academic advising, and other leading-edge best practices.
This includes full responsibility for the student services function, assessment, management, and needed updates so that students have access to needed programs and are fully supported with academic and career outcomes.
Partners with Admissions and Career Management to create an integrated strategic plan that supports program goals and growth.
Takes executive responsibility for events from orientation to graduation and partners with student leadership to marry the student body priorities with that of the school to support continuous innovation.
Manages escalations of student conduct and academic integrity concerns.
Proactively innovated in ways that support atypical learning experiences.
Manages financial and HR resources, including supervision of a staff that currently includes eight individuals and which is expected to grow.
Manages academic, student experience and flex experience teams.
Makes decisions on performance, salary actions, hiring decisions, and other human resources related issues.
Recognizes issues that have campus impact or future implications and advises the managed employees accordingly.
Directs the program budgeting and accounting processes to support financial infrastructure of program.
Develops financial forecasts and budgets to manage spending to budget.
Works closely with Admissions staff to implement recruiting and revenue strategies, ensuring quality of students and long-term health of the programs.
Develops program infrastructure to support the scaling up and growth of the Flex cohort.
Leads efforts of various departments, managers, and outside constituencies to ensure interdisciplinary collaboration within EWMBA.
Faculty Engagement & Curriculum Planning: Leads faculty in planning curriculum development for the programs.
Works with faculty and appropriate academic committees within Berkeley Haas to ensure academic rigor, relevancy, and coordination.
Identifies lecturers and evaluates course effectiveness and impact.
Leads efforts with faculty and appropriate academic committees to help drive process for curriculum development and to determine learning objectives.
Leads necessary efforts to change program content, policies, and procedures to align with best practices of top business schools.
Develops ideas for improvement, secures resources and support, and oversees implementation and achievement of stated goals.
Ensures reporting compliance.
Identifies and pursues funding opportunities and revenue streams.
Participates in long-range planning and analyses to identify new program options that contribute to revenue growth.
Serves on committees representing the program, participating in short- and long-term planning.
Represents program to external organizations.
Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications
Demonstrated leadership and management accomplishments in graduate business program development, implementation, and analysis in relation to educational policies, trends, and university policies, procedures, and practices.
Experience with curriculum planning and program development.
Knowledge of and/or can quickly learn common university-specific computer application programs and databases.
Knowledge of and/or can quickly learn university and departmental principles and procedures involved in risk assessment and evaluating risks as to likelihood and consequences.
Demonstrated experience supervising others, including coaching and development.
Experience and demonstrated accomplishments in project management and program assessment and improvement.
Demonstrated success in problem identification, reasoning, and execution of needed improvements.
Experience developing original ideas to solve problems with persuasive leadership.
Experience in strategic long-range planning, budget development, report and proposal writing, critical thinking/analysis, policy interpretation, committee work, events planning, and public presentations.
Demonstrated organizational and interpersonal skills, plus capability to collaborate successfully and to deliver results.
Effective written and oral communication skills.
Self-starter; able to work independently, multi-task effectively, as well as foster teamwork.
High level of political and personnel management acumen.
Ability to maintain confidentiality, objectivity, sensitivity, discretion, professionalism, and exercise good judgement and tact.

Education/Training:
Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training.
Salary & Benefits
This is a 100% full-time (40 hrs a week) exempt career position, which is paid monthly and eligible for UC Benefits.

Under California law, the University of California, Berkeley is required to provide a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role and should not offer a salary outside of the range posted in this job announcement. This range takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, analysis of internal equity, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be offered a salary at or near the top of the range for a position. Salary offers are determined based on final candidate qualifications and experience.
The full budgeted salary range/annual pay scale that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position is $160,000.00 - $180,000.00. The full salary range for this position classification is $105,500.00 - $200,700.00.
