Position Information Reporting to the Assistant Director of Recreation for Outdoor Excursions and Ropes, the Team Building and Climbing Coordinator is a critical member of the Recreation programming team responsible for the development, management, oversight, and assessment of the Ropes program. These areas include the Challenge Course, Mobile Rock Wall, 'The Rock' indoor climbing and bouldering facility, and driver and trailer training. Important duties include risk management, staffing and supervision, program development and implementation, and oversight and maintenance of facilities and equipment. The incumbent works closely with departmental, divisional, campus, and community partners to deliver client service-based programming aligned with campus goals at all levels.
The full salary range for the Team Building and Climbing Coordinator is $54,200 - $93,200 annually. However, the expected pay scale for this position is $54,200 - $64,400 annually.
We base salary offers on a variety of considerations, such as education, licensure and certifications, experience, and other business and organizational needs.

Education Education Requirements
Degree Requirement Bachelor's degree in related area and/or equivalent experience/training. Required Advanced degree in Outdoor Education, Recreation Administation, Leisure Studies, Student Personnel Administration, Higher Education, or a related field. Preferred

Experience
Experience Requirement 6 - 10 years of related experience. Required Experience supervising or mentoring college age students, maintaining climbing wall/challenge course equipment, student development, and leadership training. Experience working with diverse populations/clientele. Preferred Experience leading and advising participants and teaching technical skills; ability to lead and supervise in potentially extreme environmental conditions. Preferred Professional experience working in university outdoor programming including and facilitation, challenge course, and climbing walls. Preferred Experience in programming involving team/group/community building, challenge course facilitation, indoor climbing. Required
Minimum Requirements Special Condition Requirement Ability to successfully pass FBI and DOJ Criminal Check. Required Must possess or obtain a Valid CA Driver License in accordance with the California Department of Motor Vehicles.
