Job Summary

The Coordinator of Residential Services is a professional live-out position responsible for supporting the total operations of housing and residence life facilities, technology, occupancy, and day to day management of the front office. This position establishes, maintains, and trains all staff within the department related to technology and operational initiatives. This position collaborates with the Residence Life team to implement summer transitions, summer housing, and support the growth of camps and conferences. This position works closely with all residential staff and works under limited supervision, with moderate latitude for the use of initiative and independent judgment. This is a security-sensitive position.

Major Responsibilities/Duties/Critical Tasks

• Provide leadership under the Assistant Director of Housing Administrative and Business Operations to drive strategy and organization related to managing occupancy, housing billing, Technology, software, and training.
• Assist with supervision & training of the Housing & Residence Life office Student Housing Assistants.
• Implement Housing room assignments and billing processes for all residential students. 
• Manage housing wait lists as needed.
• Conduct daily audits and inspections of the StarRez Housing Management System, and other software systems and hardware to ensure optimal operations at all times. 
• Collaborate with campus colleagues regarding technological programs (i.e., Transact, billing, etc.).
• Responsible for access controls to residential facilities. This includes ensuring regular audits of access, hard keys, and temporary keys.
• Provide weekly reports, coordinate transitional housing assignments in-between semesters and summer.
• Manage and implement department communication regarding deadlines, housing sign ups, and emergency needs. 
• Responsible for Monitoring and updating the Housing & Residence Life website. 
• Communicate with parents, students and university guests verbally and in writing.
• Assist and lead projects as assigned related to department operations.
• Coordinate access to facilities by all vendors including cleaning staff and contractors.
• Respond and provide assistance as needed during emergency situations involving occupancy and/or access needs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Other Information

• Occasional, evening, weekend, or holiday work is required.

Required Education/Experience

• Bachelor’s Degree.
• Two (2) years of experience in related field of work.
• Familiarity with Housing & Residence Life operations or similar setting as a professional or paraprofessional.
• Extensive technological skills and experience.

Preferred Education/Experience

• Master’s degree in student affairs/college student personnel, counseling, business administration or related field.
• Two to Three (2-3) years’ experience in student affairs.
• Previous experience directly in housing operations and residential services.

Accompanying Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Competencies

• Demonstrated knowledge of residential operations including software, facilities, and occupancy management.
• Highly motivated with expert communication and listening skills.
• Ability to successfully navigate concerns and complaints effectively.
