The Security Sergeant is responsible for supervising and participating in the work of Security Officers. As the Security Sergeant, this role will manage shift officers including training of new officers and work schedule management. Other duties include monitoring attendance, appearance and alertness, maintain discipline, observe and evaluate performance, and participate in corrective action conversations.

Other responsibilities include involvement in community engagement, criminal emergencies, emergency alarm response, physical security, access control, camera systems, and many other areas. The Security Sergeant will work closely with and report directly to the Director of Security.

The successful candidate possesses a four-year college degree, two to four years of directly related prior experience, and a demonstrated ability to supervise staff, including assigning work, supporting policies, and conflict resolution when needed. Preferred qualifications include two years of supervisory experience.
