Position Purpose: The High School Math teacher is responsible for creating a classroom environment to develop competencies in mathematical skills and an understanding of the structure of mathematics; to motivate each student to apply mathematical understanding and skills in the solution of practical problems; and to guide students’ development of self-advocacy and executive functioning skills for successful transition to college and next steps in their lives. The High School Math Teacher skill set must include proficiency with teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, Trigonometry, and Pre-calculus.
