Summary Â
Iowa State Universityâs College of Human Sciences is seeking an engaging and customer service orientated individual for the position of Student Services Program Specialist. This position serves as a valuable team member in the multi-function, high-traffic Student Services Center. The Student Services Program Specialist, reporting to the Director of Student Services, will have complex and varied work while serving a wide variety of constituents, including staff, faculty, students, alumni, prospective students, and employers. Areas of responsibility include:
Student Services Center:Coordinate office services within the College of Human Sciences Student Services Center, including the CHS Career Services Office, the CHS International Programs Office, and the CHS Recruitment Office. This position will hire, train, mentor and supervise Student Office Assistants. Responsibilities also include management of meeting rooms, office supplies, computers, copier, budgets, events, phones, and emergency preparedness policies.
Orientation Program: Manages the new student orientation program for all students within the College of Human Sciences. Represents the College of Human Sciences on the University Orientation Committee. Coordinates with departmental advisors for 16 different majors regarding advising appointments, expectations, and schedules.
Career Services Support: Serves as lead in collecting, preparing, and analyzing internship data and reports. Reviews and approves employer job postings in career management system.
Events and Meetings: Assists the Student Services and Career Services Directors in scheduling meetings with a variety of constituents, including planning agendas, taking minutes, and maintaining online records of agendas and minutes.
