Using skills as a seasoned, experienced student services professional, provides the full range of student services within an organization such as an academic department, school, or college. Independently advises students and resolves student services-related issues on the full range of academic issues inherent within the organization. Advises faculty and management on a variety of student issues. Works with the department's / school's / college's management to recommend changes to policies, practices, and procedures. Guidance on issues requiring in-depth knowledge of specialized programs is provided by offices specializing in those fields, e.g., the financial aid office, graduate division, or student learning center, OR by the chair / dean and faculty of the department / school / college. May administer funds for student programs.

Required:
3 years of experience working with international students in a university setting
Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience / training.
Ability to implement individual and group career advising skills applicable to international students. Ability to critique curriculum vitae, resumes, cover letters, elevator speech and mock interviews. Knowledge of employment information and career planning resources for internship search. Knowledge of principles of internship techniques such as the teaching of creative internship search strategies, interviewing skills, and resume preparation. Knowledge of the challenges faced by international students in an academic setting, including language barriers, cultural adjustment, and academic expectations Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to empathize and build rappor with students from diverse cultural backgrounds Possess ability to work as a lead person in developing and implementing career development programs involving collaborative arrangements with professional colleagues and stakeholders. Demonstrated curriculum and program development and event coordination experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Must be able to appropriately represent the University and its students to the internship community. Must be able to effectively present workshops and updates to an audience. Must be able to create web and email content for a mass audience. Must be able to employ political acumen to craft sensitive correspondence and reports for stakeholders. Able to relate to a broad variety of individuals' backgrounds and should be familiar with affirmative action principles and goals. Must possess knowledge of methods and techniques to facilitate student outreach activities.
Preferred:
Master's degree in counseling or related field OR the equivalent combination of education and experience.
