The health Services Nurse works collaboratively with their colleagues to ensure a high level of care and service to members of the Molloy community. The health Services Nurse will triage Molloy community members and maintain health records in the designated EMR system for current and incoming students as per Molloy College requirements / New York State Department of Health (NYSDOH) guidelines. The Nurse prepares and submitsrequired NYS immunization survey. Monitors/contact trace COVID cases (if applicable) for the entire campus community. The Nurse works within the Division of Student Affairs and should be committed to student wellness as an essential component of student success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Maintain immunization compliance with NYSDOH standards. Examine and interpret health documents. Enter immunization information into Pyramed EMR system for all students. Communicate with students via EMR secure messaging, phone, text and/or email regarding the collection of required documentation. Prepare and submit the annual NYSDOH survey.
Serve in a clinical nurse capacity and assess students within scope of license. Telephone/In person/Zoom triage for individuals that present to the Health Services. Respond to on campus emergencies. Participates in on call rotation with other nurses for after hours and weekends if needed. Serve as a health resource for the entire Molly community and assist students regarding health issues. Make health referrals as needed. Serve as a resource for health insurance information for students and families. Self-maintain nursing competencies relevant to college health and general clinical practice.
Maintain information on best practices related to infection control of communicable diseases like COVID-19, flu, and other illnesses. Stay up to date on all current CDC/NYSDOH information. Work closely with the Departments of Health regarding positive cases of COVID-19 for members of the Molloy community and assist with contact tracing (if applicable).
Participate in departmental meetings on and off campus. Organize and facilitate wellness programs/emails/social media campaigns for various health topics pertinent to the Molloy population. General office functions such as monitoring office medical supplies, maintaining medical equipment, etc.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree (Nursing)
Must have current RN license for NYS.
Must be CPR/AED/NARCAN certified.
5 to 8 years of work-related experience
Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word)
