The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary
Reporting to the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs, the incumbent provides directed administrative and communications support to the Office of Alumni Affairs at the Columbia University School of International and Public Affairs (SIPA).

Responsibilities
Working closely with the Assistant Director of Alumni Affairs supports the layout, production, and dissemination of alumni communications including e-newsletters, event invitations, and other digital/e-mail communications, website content and print materials. Provides support for e-mail marketing and social media campaigns, including LinkedIn content, for SIPA alumni.
Assists with meeting and event planning and execution (in-person and virtual) including communication and negotiation with venues, managing vendor contracts, creation and distribution of event communication, guest inquiries and registration, and coordination of event materials and set-ups or virtual platforms (Zoom); duties include staffing some events during evenings and weekends.
Tracks and updates alumni data in the University's central alumni database (Athena) and manipulates SIPA alumni and communications data to track and support alumni engagement with the School; duties include designing queries to generate reports on alumni and communications data.
Provides support for the unit???s financial operations; duties include submitting purchase orders, tracking expenses, and submitting invoices for new projects.
Answers and screens inquiries to the Office of Alumni Affairs by phone, in-person, e-mail, and web forms.
Serves as a liaison with the SIPA Office of Development and other SIPA units, including the Career Advancement Center, Admissions, Student Affairs, and SIPA???s various Centers, academic programs, and student groups, regarding communication and events with SIPA alumni.
Assists with assigning tasks to program assistants and other student employees in the Office of Alumni Affairs in general office duties, event logistics, and updates to alumni data in Athena.
Provides support for programs and activities of the SIPA Alumni Association including its events, meetings, and volunteer programs.
Performs related duties as assigned or requested
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or its equivalent required.
Minimum of two years of related administrative experience required.
Thorough familiarity with Microsoft Office.
Must have excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications
College strongly preferred.
Administrative experience in a university setting highly preferred.
Experience with event management, HTML, e-mail marketing platforms, social media, and/or web/graphic design preferred.
The ideal candidate will also have good writing skills and awareness of international policy issues.
