Summary of Duties:
Reporting to the Associate Director Transformational Student Experience, the Career Consultantfor Professional Programs will educate and advise online professional business students on all aspects of career development and create a program strategy to include goals, measures, resources, etc. The Career Consultant will develop and deliver a minimum of three (3) online workshops each year (one each semester) and provide individual resume reviews, LinkedIn consultations, and career coaching. The Career Consultant educates and advises students on topics such as the development of cover letters and resumes/CVs; job and career strategies; effective interviewing techniques; researching industries and companies for personal fit; effective networking strategies; online career resources and technologies; salary negotiations; strategic involvement/participation in experiential learning opportunities that; and other career development topics.
This position is eligible for Remote/Telework.
Required Qualifications:
Positions require a Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of professional work experience in student services or related education/experience. A Master's degree in a related field may substitute for one (1) year of professional work experience. Any combination of relevant education and professional experience may be substituted for the educational requirement on a year-for-year basis.
Knowledge of career development and job search process.
Experience working with diverse faculty, students, and staff.
Experience working with military-affiliated students.
Demonstrated ability to exercise professional judgment and leadership, including the ability to work independently.
Demonstrated experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
Demonstrated excellent verbal/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field.
Experience in Career Services at an institution of higher education.
Familiarity with Washington State University academic rules and regulations.

Monthly Salary: $3,751 - $4,300 | In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate's current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position.
