The Associate Director of Occupancy Management is an integral leader within the Housing and Residence Life team at UNL. This position focuses on delivering an exceptional housing application and contracting experience for incoming, current, and returning residential students. The Associate Director is responsible for developing, implementing, and elevating streamlined housing application processes, customer-focused room and roommate selection procedures, and providing timely, customer-focused service. This position directly oversees and manages a team who is responsible for providing a high level of customer and constituent support. Key constituencies include: current and prospective residential students, parents and families, other housing and dining staff, staff within Student Affairs, as well other university offices.
Outside of day-to-day operations, the Associate Director is integral in implementing a strategic occupancy management plan for UNL Housing. This position must be able to create complex and dynamic occupancy projections based on trends in applications, student demand, and university enrollment. Reporting to the Director of Residence Life, the Associate Director must be able to work autonomously and take the initiative to solve complex problems to meet the needs of our students.

Minimum Required Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education, student affairs, business, information technology, or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Four years of full-time experience working in a college student housing program and/or related experience required. Experience supervising full-time staff. Familiarity with housing/occupancy information systems. Ability using Microsoft Office software and standard office equipment. Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively receive, interpret, and relay ideas, information and needs for internal and external stakeholders. This position requires superior written and verbal communication skills in addition to mastery of Microsoft Excel and Word software and e-mail systems. Ability to balance several administrative processes at once. Ability to work with people in other departments. Strong administrative skills and knowledge of PC-based applications essential.
Three years or more of successful experience in the housing assignments area of a college student housing program. Extensive knowledge of StarRez. Experience developing housing occupancy management strategy. Experience with recruitment of students or staff. Understanding of housing accommodations under Americans with Disabilities Act and Fair Housing Act laws. Knowledge of College Housing operations.
