Position Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Career Development (CD), the Associate Director of Career
Advising holds overall responsibility for the design and delivery of career-development programming for Gabelli School graduate students and alumni at the Lincoln Center campus.

The Associate Director executes the Director's overall strategy for providing student career services including individual advising, group workshops and seminars, and alumni and corporate engagement opportunities that contribute to career success.

The Associate Director also serves as the career-development program manager for a portfolio of assigned specialty masters programs, closely monitoring and assisting this group through the internship and job search process.

Essential Functions:

Works with the Director of Career Development to develop and implement an annual career-development programming plan for all masters programs, and international students, in a way
that produces measurable benefits and targeted outcomes.
Identifies KPI and ROI targeted outcomes for all core career advising programs, tracks and reports on them weekly, monthly and quarterly.
Manages an advising model that provides coverage across all industries and functional areas. Including managing all internal and external resources involved in this effort.
Works with each Career Advisor to develop annual program plans that adhere to an established general template but also customized for designated student populations and industry foci.
Sets metrics and goals per assigned program for each Career Advisor, assesses progress toward these goals at regular check-ins, and provides guidance where needed for improvement. Accurately assesses the strengths of each advisor and provides additional support and training opportunities as required.
Oversees the development and delivery of general and industry specific programs and ensures all programming optimizes student preparation and engagement while meeting the highest standard of professionalism and excellence.
Motivates and brings together the graduate program Career Advising as a cohesive, well-functioning team in an environment that promotes the sharing of best practices. Monitors the
technology utilized by the CD for effectiveness and utilization and assesses best available
platforms on a periodic basis.
Regularly seeks out the latest information and trends in career services, including keeping pace with developments at peer and aspirant schools to gain insights and ideas for improvement.
Remains industry-current on recruiting and hiring practices, employer needs, international student issues, desired academic qualifications, external certification requirements, current
events and other trends affecting graduate program hiring.
Works with the Director and the corporate partnerships team to cultivate corporate and alumni relationships for recruiting and programming purposes.
Serves as a member of one or more cross-functional teams that bring together admissions,
academic advising, CD, faculty, and alumni relations to serve students through a high-quality
end-to-end process.
Enhances the overall student experience by being visible and accessible, getting to know
students by name, and responding in a timely and personalized manner to all concerns.
Serves as CD program manager for MBA students and assigned specialty masters programs,
shepherding career-development programming. This includes developing customized program
plans, building strong relationships with students, seeking regular feedback on program
effectiveness, monitoring individuals' job search progress, and executing customized
intervention plans as needed.
Monitors employment outcomes across all master degree programs and works with the Director to develop strategies for identified areas of need.

Required Qualifications:

M.A./M.S. in student personnel, counseling, higher education, education administration or related areas
For candidates hired without this credential, an advanced degree must be obtained in four years of the date of hire to maintain employment.
Management experience, including the demonstrated capacity to produce results against
established metrics to lead a diverse team of colleagues of differing backgrounds and opinions. Strong work history in one or more specific business fields such as accounting, financial services, marketing or information systems, and/or corporate HR and recruiting experience.
Experience with learning/training-related program design and delivery in either higher
education or the corporate world.
Dedication to student development and the student experience, and an understanding of how
to translate the needs and requirements of the working business world into accessible,
beneficial programming for undergraduate and graduate students.
Strong interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to make students feel supported and valued. Strong team-development and collaboration skills.

Minimum Salary: $81,500

Maximum Salary: $102,000
