The State University of New York College at Cortland is accepting applications for a new full-time Onboarding and Benefits Specialist. Reporting to the Manager of Benefits and Employee Engagement Programs, this position supports the administration of SUNY Cortland and SUNY Research Foundation benefits and leaves programs, and onboarding and engagement programs.
Onboarding and Engagement Programs
Partner with HR staff to welcome newly hired employees and execute a comprehensive onboarding plan including orientation, socialization, and mentoring.
Plan, coordinate and host the in-person professional and classified staff orientation program.
Utilize the applicant tracking system and First Year Experience binder to communicate important information about the University and position.
Prepare buddy and/or mentor program information for supervisors.
Conduct 60, 90, and 1 year surveys to assess employee job satisfaction and engagement.
Provide reporting and project updates to manager and/or senior management.
Identify innovative and creative new ways to onboard new employees and to measure their onboarding experience.
Participate in and support employee engagement initiatives related to recognition and reward programs, socialization activities, employee surveys, and leader development.
Communicate annual open enrollment programs and all benefit and application deadlines.
Administer benefit orientation sessions for all employee groups as needed.
Process tuition waiver and scholarship programs.
Administer the NYS Paid Family Leave (PFL) and Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA)
Manage the administration of benefits programs for SUNY RF employees.
Process and provide individual off-boarding services to retirement eligible employees.
Conduct benefit and exit interviews of full-time RF staff separating from service.
Collaborate with Student Affairs personnel and committees to communicate health and wellness opportunities to the faculty and staff.
Bachelor's degree Minimum of two years professional work experience in human resources
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources Management Professional experience in employee onboarding programs and/or benefits administration Experience working in higher education
