The position requires extensive student contact, in-person, via phone, and electronically. This position requires excellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a fast-paced environment to create a positive learner experience.
The main areas of responsibility are: student services, student programming and leadership, and student data management.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Meeting individually and in group settings with students to offer guidance on topics related to overall student experience.
Working with other Northeastern offices and staff members as necessary, manage and support resolution of student concerns and emergencies.
Develop resources and trainings to ensure that the campus is prepared to address student issues.
Develop and distribute student communications across multiple platforms, including a regular student newsletter and Yammer posts.
Support management and delivery of student Orientation events for students in all programs and colleges.
Develop and execute regular extra-curricular events to enhance overall student experience, including events that address the needs of a large international student population.
Support regulatory compliance functions, including distribution and auditing of student enrollment agreements.
Support the development and ongoing operations of campus student interest groups and organizations.
This is an in-person role. The successful candidate will be expected to be on campus Mon-Fri.
Bachelor's degree required in Education or related field. Master's degree preferred with minimum of 2-4 years of experience in student affairs/life or academic fields in the higher education context. Demonstrated success in the development and implementation of managing multifaceted and dynamic projects. Must enjoy working with learners and helping to guide them through their program to graduation. Flexible, creative thinker open to new ideas and changing priorities within a fast-paced organization. Strong writing, communications, project management skills and ability to manage stakeholder expectations is essential. The ability to be a self-starter and bring teams of individuals together in a collegial and empathetic spirit, while able to relate with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Ability to think and act both analytically and strategically. Experience working with a student enrollment and registration databases is an asset. Finally, the individual must be able to work independently and be an integral member of a team.

50% Student Services
Serve as the first point of contact for all campus learners.
Serve as the point person for student concerns and crises; triage and identify the core issues that the student is having to guide the student through the various campus units in order to streamline issue resolution.
Ensure that the full range of university services (including WeCare, OSCCR, DRC, Library, Health Services, ITS, ODEI, Registrar) are available and easily accessible for campus learners.
Maintain a deep understanding of university and student policies, proposing and creating campus specific student policies as needed.
Develop and maintain intimate knowledge of learner experience, through activities such as personal interaction, direct observation, and solicited feedback.
Assist with the development of a communications strategy and send regular communications to the campus learner population.
30% Student Programming and Leadership
Create and manage opportunities for student leadership and engagement
Oversee a diverse portfolio of student programming and co-curricular events that align with the student services mission
Manage annual recruitment and training of student leaders/mentors
Support major annual events, including September & January Orientations, faculty Orientation, and campus graduation ceremonies
20% Student Data Management
Collaborate with the Registrar's Office, enrollment management data team, university-wide admissions teams, and campus operations to ensure accurate and complete data for local campus students.
Facilitate surveys of campus students and focus groups to maintain up-to-date information on campus student experience; implement changes on the basis of data.
Analyze survey results to identify student trends and issues and extrapolate strategic recommendations to address.
