The Highlights:
As part of the Student Involvement team, the Coordinator serves as the lead staff administrator for traditions and affinity programming at DePaul University and serves as a co-advisor for the DePaul Activities Board. This position contributes to campus activities at DePaul through the oversight of 8-10 annual affinity building events and advising of DePaul CONNECT. This position will work in a co-advisor model to advise the DePaul Activities Board (DePaul's student-led programming board), assist in planning and execution of campus traditions and affinity building programs, and other student involvement experiences. Additionally, this position contributes to Campus Activities in significantly contributing to the Welcome Experience programming. Also, this position plays an integral role on the Student Involvement team, supporting departmental vision and mission, while developing and contributing to departmental goals.
What You'll Do:
Serve as the lead staff administrator and advisor for traditions & affinity programs, which includes the Ugly Sweater Party, Midnight Breakfast, Gnome Hunt, Cereal Bar and other traditions as determined by the student-led DePaul CONNECT. (50%) -Assist students in setting the overall programmatic vision for traditions and affinity programming at DePaul. -Provide supervision, guidance and leadership development to a team of executive board members and committee members. -Attend weekly general meetings, conducting weekly advising meetings with organization officers, and providing overall assistance with the event planning and budgeting process for 8-10 events annually.
Serve in co-advisor role in assisting with activities and programs of the DePaul Activities Board (DAB); provide overall assistance with event planning and budgeting process for major campus events such as FEST and Demon Jam; Oversee DePaul After Dark, DePaul's weekly Thursday-night programming in the Lincoln Park Student Center. Includes oversight of a student committee, budget, and additional event preparation details, including contract oversight and negotiation.
Contribute to quarterly Welcome Experience Programming in conjunction with the Assistant Director for Programming.

Responsible for a budget totaling up to $500,000. Responsible for negotiation of contracts ranging from $1,000 to $70,000.
What You'll Need:
Masters degree in student affairs, higher education, college student personnel, counseling or related field preferred; Bachelors degree required.
At least one to two years of professional experience advising college students and organizations and working with diverse populations required (two years of graduate experience will equate to one year of professional experience).
Experience with planning large campus events or working with a programming board strongly preferred.
Budget management experience preferred.
Experience supervising others preferred.
Ability to facilitate leadership development and conversations with student leaders.
Ability to manage multiple tasks, handle multiple priorities, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment; demonstrate initiative.
Ability to engage collaboratively with departmental team and university areas.
Ability to effectively communicate with students and colleagues in writing, verbally, and in presentations.
Ability to develop professional relationships and engage collaboratively with students, faculty, staff and university partners.
Ability to plan large-scale events with attention to detail and multiple stakeholders.
Ability to develop effective training sessions and modules for large groups of student leaders.
