This position requires a focus on students with disabilities who may also be from limited-income and/or first-generation backgrounds. The main responsibility of this position is coaching college students along their academic journey to earning their bachelor's degree. The position requires managing time, multi-task, and functioning successfully with little supervision. It includes providing college success assistance to participants. The position requires detailed documentation of participants' services offered and other projects related to our grant. This includes maintaining physical paper files, an online database, and cloud-based storage of files for assigned participants. Successful individuals are expected to attend professional meetings and participate in professional organizations. Strategic planning skills and the ability to collaborate with and motivate others (from participants to graduate assistants, all the way to professional staff) are critical for this position. This position will supervise up to two Graduate Assistants. This position requires some nights and weekends as necessary. This individual will report directly to the SSS-D Project Director as well as assist them with other duties and grant-related responsibilities as necessary. This position is fully grant-funded.
Job Requirements:
Candidate must hold a master's degree in Education, Student Affairs, Human Services, or a related field.
Minimum one year of experience in an educational student service setting (can include graduate work).
Knowledge of educational, career, and financial aid resources that can be used to counsel students.
Demonstrate effective presentation and communication skills.
The ability to initiate, implement, and coordinate multiple projects.
Candidates must have a strong desire to promote educational achievement and opportunity.
Willing to become familiar with TRIO regulations that govern program policies and procedures.
Additional Information:
Salary Range: $36,000 - $40,000
