Middle School Library Assistant This is a staff position which reports to the Director of Libraries and Archivist. The Middle School Library Assistant supports the Middle School Librarian in all aspects of library operations, including supervision of the circulation desk, various administrative duties, and assistance with classes and other programs.
Essential Duties Responsibilities Open or close the library according to procedures. Cover the circulation desk as scheduled, which includes checking materials in and out. Supervise the students. Assist library users in locating and using materials and digital resources. Help library users with photocopying, scanning, printing, and using the laminator. Maintain the library collection, including cataloging, shelving, the weeding and repairing of books, as well as assisting with the annual inventory. Process the overdue notices. Maintain an attractive, orderly, and clean library environment. Create monthly displays and assist with the promotion of new resources. Maintain and order library supplies. Other duties as required. Employee is self-directed.
Hours: 9:00 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
