Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey, is seeking a University Enrollment Services Technician (EST) for University Enrollment Services. The University Enrollment Services Technician – Scholarships, under the direction of the Assistant Director, will have an integral and lead role on the University Enrollment Services – Funds Management team. The Technician – Scholarships will have scholarship posting responsibility for all scholarships and will perform more technically demanding financial aid duties, including but not limited to student needs analysis, federal verification, and packaging of student aid, providing financial aid determination, and facilitating problem-solving with any barrier that impedes a student's ability to access and afford a Rutgers University college education.
Among the key duties of this position are the following:
Under administrative direction, leads the clerical operation for enrollment management activities of Financial Aid, Admissions, and Registrar.
Assists in all aspects of enrollment management from the prospective applicant stage to enrolled students.
Researches and resolves diversified problems and provides responses to questions about student registrations, transcript requests, academic records, financial aid recipients and changes.
Accesses information from a variety of sources residing on the university's administrative mainframe computer.
Prepares, tracks, and finalizes financial aid documents.
Composes draft correspondence and participates in general mailings, satellite operations, and general clerical work.
Provides guidance and assistance to others.
May act as group leader.
Minimum Education and Experience:
Requires a high school/vocational school education or equivalent plus four years or any equivalent combination of: clerical or secretarial experience, advanced secretarial or business training, or college level study.
Experience must include two years financial aid and/or registration experience.
Two years of student services, student accounting or similar experience may be substituted.
Requires the ability to group lead.
Requires the ability to record and maintain data in computerized and non-computerized formats and working knowledge and the ability to use basic spreadsheet, word-processing, database software, and/or email.
Must be able to communicate effectively.
Must have effective client service skills.
