Advises and supports a diverse portfolio of student organizations. For the assigned organizations, this could include, but is not limited to, mentoring organizational leadership, attending organizational meetings and events, assessing organizational risk and ensuring compliance with University policy, developing training opportunities and materials, promoting financial competency through fiscal management accountability and skills development, and providing connection to campus resources. For some organizations, additional large scale programming advice and support is required, which may include contracting, event risk management and security, and liaising with vendors.
Hires, trains, mentors, and supervises two (2) full-time Student Involvement Advisors. Works with these staff members to develop the Departmentâ™s comprehensive programming calendar, coordinates Orientation and Homecoming activities, and supports annual/on-going RSO funding processes in coordination with the Undergraduate Student Government. Provides on-going feedback and conducts annual performance reviews for each staff member.
Hires, trains, mentors, and supervises a team of Student Organization Peer Advisors. Works with these students to advise and support a diverse portfolio of student organizations, provides programming advice, and ensures compliance with University policies and procedures.
Develops and conducts formal and informal evaluations and program assessments based upon professional standards; applies theoretical knowledge to identify and prioritize student organization needs and learning goals; and assesses student leader satisfaction and measures student learning outcomes. Â
Manages the Student Activity Center space, including budget oversight, ordering and inventory of supplies, mail distribution to student organizations, maintenance of technology, and training and supervision of student staff team.
Oversees multiple programmatic budgets. Maintains records as it relates to their programmatic responsibilities, including the development of quarterly and annual reports. This position will work with the Associate Director to seek out additional funding sources at the University and/or through external sources.
Serves as a member of the CLI staff and assist with various office programs and projects. This includes assisting the Associate Director with the various CLI initiatives and other duties as assigned.
Communicates and discusses contract terms with outside vendors. Administers contracts. Maintains organizational records and archives relevant information and program materials. Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction.
Markets student activities programming throughout the year. Develops and implements protocols for evaluating the effectiveness of programs.
Performs other related work as needed.
Masterâ™s degree in student affairs, higher education, counseling, or other relevant field.
Experience in a progressively responsible work environment, preferably in a college or university setting desired.
Demonstrated ability in the design and assessment of student development workshops, implementation of training modules, advising of student organizations, and supervision of student staff.
Prior experience in budgetary processes (analysis and reporting).
