Job Description The Admissions and Recruitment Specialist enhances the Mental Health Counseling and Behavioral Medicine Program's (MHCBMs) ability to efficiently recruit and enroll students with a high level of customer service and make informed decisions affecting admissions based upon analysis of admissions data. The Admissions and Recruitment Specialist should be experienced with Admissions systems and tools and pursues opportunities to improve operations that facilitate student enrollment. The Admissions and Recruitment Specialist is also a key collaborator with the MHCBM faculty and Graduate Medical Sciences (GMS) staff focused on student services and program support. This position will also collaborate with other Boston University Schools and Colleges that work with us on delivering exceptional programming.
Required Skills Required Skills:
Bachelors degree with 3-5 years of experience
Superb organizational, judgment, and prioritization skills, including the ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet all deadlines
Ability to produce and present data on recruitment/admissions
Strong customer service orientation
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Cross-cultural communication skills, self-awareness, and the ability to work effectively with people of diverse backgrounds, including those who speak English as a second language
Exceptional data management. Experience with Word Processing programs, Excel, PowerPoint, and related software Ability to learn new software quickly
Support in maintenance of detailed documentation of confidential records for licensure and analyzing data to support our compliance
Ability to make meaning out of data, note trends, and make recommendations
Ability to exercise good judgement, especially when working with confidential materials
Preferred Skills:
Professional experience in fast-paced, collaborative higher education environment
Self-starter and highly-motivated, collaborative team player with ability to work independently
Background in higher education administration, admissions, data analytics, business, or marketing
