The Vancouver Program Director in Arts, Media & Design will serve as an integral member of the Vancouver campus administrative team and an innovative partner on the College of Arts, Media & Design (CAMD)'s program development team. They will assist the Vancouver Campus Dean and the CAMD Dean's Office in Boston with the development, planning and coordination of all academic services for the new MS in Information Design and Data Visualization (MSIDDV) that launches in Fall 2022 and future CAMD programs (e.g., Game Science and Design, Experience Design, etc.). They will be charged with establishing a presence for the MSIDDV program in the Vancouver region, as well as developing and teaching CAMD courses in information design and/or visualization technologies. Oversight includes planning and coordination of academic delivery in Vancouver, execution of Northeastern and community events and effective delivery of student services. The Program Director will play a key role in realizing the vision of Northeastern University Vancouver and all the activities that our academic enterprise entails such that the university is positioned as a strong player and resource in the Vancouver region. The position's scope will expand broadly as the campus grows-overseeing aspects of academic delivery in partnership with our Colleges, student services and operations. Working with Boston-based Academic Colleges, the Program Director serves as the key academic strategist for determining academic program delivery, including recommending innovative new academic curricula, and implementation of such in Vancouver. They will liaise with the College Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors and other academic personnel to ensure programs are of the highest academic quality and aligned with local, regional and national workforce needs. Working with the Regional CEO & Dean and Boston-based teams, this position ensures that the Northeastern brand presence is projected both externally and internally through the delivery of academic programs and student services. The position oversees the Vancouver operations/student services and ensures that each event, course, learner or partner is properly served. The Program Director oversees the delivery of local student service and academic courses and serves the respective visiting teaching faculty from Boston and the greater region. This position and its staff provide excellent student service and facilitates Boston-based service delivery to Vancouver students for more complex academic and/or student services (via phone, email, chat or in person). The Program Director oversees the coordination and scheduling of the Vancouver campus activities and events to include recruitment activities, academic classes and programs, student services, community events, and other activities to serve both internal and external users.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
A terminal degree (PhD or MFA) in a relevant field is required, with 5-10 years of teaching experience at the college level | Is a self-starter and have previous experience with managing academic programs | Demonstrates excellent communication (written and oral), leadership skills, vision and ability to keep multiple priorities in focus in and in progress | They must have strong ability to interact with and guide faculty and staff through processes, engage with external partners, and support student enrollment in all phases | They must have experience working independently and as a member of a team | Ability to thrive in an innovative and creative culture in a growing organization | Demonstrated ability to manage complex operations | Can identify issues and recommend solutions for faculty, students and our business partners | Ability to collaborate with faculty and staff across Northeastern departments including Deans, Associate Deans, Program Directors and other academic administrators. | Ability to manage multiple projects and coordinate multiple tasks while delivering highest level of customer service essential.
