The CUNY School of Medicine (CSOM) at The City College of New York (CCNY) located in the heart of Harlem, is the only medical school in the City University of New York system. The Admissions Specialist, reporting to the Director of Admissions, and performs the administrative duties of the office. The Specialist is an integral member of the Admissions team and works in partnership with the Senior Admissions Counselor. The Admissions Specialist duties will include, but are not limited to:
Collect and manage data on incoming students.
Responsible for collection of data and production of Office of Admissions and PA Report.
Collect related medical school admission data and serves in capacity as liaison to the AAMC.
Serves in capacity as liaison to Registrar and Student Affairs for data related matters.
Supervises College Work Student and Federal Work Study students in the Office of Admissions.
Assists with scheduling interviews, works with faculty, staff and students to coordinate 900-1000 interviews each admission cycle.
Assists in application review, receipt and verification of information, and the timely forwarding of data to other campus departments as needed.
Oversight of distribution of recruitment materials to applicants, high school counselors and other stakeholders.
Produces reports as requested for within school and for outside requests.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree and four years' related experience required.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity and/or proficiency in CUNY First (PeopleSoft).
Proficiency in Hobsons or a related data management system.
Strong interpersonal skills.
