Associate Director of Undergraduate Academic Advising
About the Opportunity
This is a management position in Bouve College of Health Sciences' Office of Student Services with a primary emphasis on oversight and coordination of undergraduate academic advising. The associate director will oversee and supervise the undergraduate advisors and their programs, as well as liaise with academic program directors. Day-to-day management of academic advising in the Office of Student Services includes: directing advising processes like caseload management, reviewing academic progress, graduation clearance, new student orientation, and managing advising staff by maintaining schedules, assisting with challenges, and supporting professional development. The associate director will represent the college on college-wide and university committees and work with the assistant dean to manage the implementation of projects related to retention of students and coordinate development and maintenance of advising data. The associate director will work with the undergraduate academic advisors, the undergraduate departments/programs, and the assistant dean to retain students through graduation by providing high quality academic advising services.
Required qualifications:
Master's degree
At least 2 years of experience as an academic advisor or closely related position
At least 2 years of experience in college administration, program management, and/or supervision of staff
Preferred qualifications:
Experience supervising academic advisors
Experience using Navigate, Banner, SalesForce, and/or DARS
