The Manager - Business and Data Analytics has primary responsibility for overall data, systems, reporting, and analytics for the COE Departmental Co-op Team as well as providing support in areas of business process, project management, and strategy to a large team of 40+ Co-op Faculty and staff. The Manager - Business and Data Analytics will report to the Assistant Dean for College of Engineering Cooperative Education and will manage a team of 5-6 Data and Student Services staff.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in computer science, data analytics, business administration or related field plus 3-5 years in reporting and data analysis as well as managing a team and projects.
Preferred: Coursework in programming and or data science
Applicant must demonstrate strong organizational and time management skills, including attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple projects and complete tasks for several academic leaders
Understanding of normalized relational database design
Candidate should enjoy problem solving and be very good at troubleshooting
Excellent math, problem-solving, and analytical skills
Ability to explain technical concepts / processes in lay terms
Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills
Comfortability working both independently and collaboratively among a team with diverse personalities and strengths
Previous experience supervising individuals including providing ongoing performance feedback and writing end-of-year reviews
Fundamental programming knowledge and skills including:
o Python, SQL, R, R Studio
o JavaScript and TypeScript
o Tableau or PowerBI
Experience extracting and combining data from multiple databases and systems (such as student information systems, client relationship management systems, and others) and contextualizing insights.
Previous experience with coding and automating processes with platforms such as Microsoft Power Automate
Previous experience managing the design of new processes, systems, and tools
Knowledge of survey design best practices and relevant software including but not limited to Qualtrics and Microsoft Forms
this role is a hybrid role (coming into the office 2-3 days a week)
