The Sibley School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) is one of the largest academic units within the College of Engineering and is home to the mechanical engineering (ME) B.S. degree program, as well as graduate programs in the fields of mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering (AE), and theoretical and applied mechanics (TAM). The Opportunity
Are you looking for a dynamic student services role that plays a crucial part in shaping the future of Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, and Theoretical and Applied Mechanics? We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our team as the Graduate Admissions and Applications Coordinator. Your primary role will be to coordinate the full-cycle admissions process for our prestigious PhD and Master of Science programs. Additionally, you will be the program manager for the Future Leaders in Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering (FLAME) program, contributing to nurturing the next generation of exceptional engineers. Key responsibilities include:
- Design and manage the CollegeNet interface, aligning it with the specifications of our admissions committee to ensure a smooth and efficient application process.
- Act as the primary liaison with the Cornell Graduate School for systems management and recruitment fellowships, fostering strong collaborative relationships.
- Create and develop compelling marketing materials for the Graduate School's recruitment events to attract top-tier applicants.
- Track the progress of approximately 650 PhD and MS applications, ensuring that all applications meet the minimum field requirements.
- Communicate with applicants as needed, providing essential information and support throughout the application process.
- Enter admissions decisions (admit, reject, waitlist, etc.) promptly and accurately, maintaining an efficient and transparent process.
- Monitor deferrals, withdrawals, and acceptances, keeping track of changes and updating records accordingly.
- Collaborate with the Asst. Director for Graduate Affairs and the Events Coordinator to coordinate the annual visit day for prospective students, providing them with a welcoming and informative experience.
This is a part-time (30 hours/week) endowed position that is based in Ithaca, NY. This position follows a 4:1 campus-to-home hybrid work schedule. Work hours are flexible, but will be mutually agreed upon.

- Hold an Associate's degree and 2-3 years of admissions, recruitment, or enrollment management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Be technically savvy, especially with databases.
- Work effectively with faculty, students, and staff.

- Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience with CollegeNet or setting up applications in CollegeNet an asset.
- Experience in Higher Education administration
