If you have what it takes, Pratt Institute is seeking a Director for the Office of Title IX and Nondiscrimination. This role will report to the Assistant Vice President for Student Affairs and with a dotted line to Human Resources, the Director of the Office of Title IX and Nondiscrimination/Title IX Coordinator is responsible for managing and overseeing the responses to Title IX, sexual misconduct, discrimination, and harassment-related inquiries.
This includes receiving initial disclosures, providing resources and reporting and resolution options, conducting the intake and assessment of complaints, making appropriate referrals to campus partners, assessing for emergency actions and interim measures, engaging in risk assessment, conducting investigations, and generally overseeing the process for all Title IX, sexual misconduct, and discrimination/harassment complaints. This individual will provide leadership and coordinate response, resolution, and communications related to process outcomes in partnership with Human Resources and the student conduct process.

Salary is competitive and commensurate with experience and qualifications. The salary range for this position is $95,000-$115,000.

Qualifications: Required qualifications:
Masters degree from an accredited institution of higher education in human resources, higher education administration, diversity equity, inclusion, criminal justice, or related specialization.
Seven (7) or more years of relevant professional experience, with at least three years of professional experience conducting investigations related to sexual misconduct, sexual harassment, and/or gender-related violence, and/or discrimination in a higher-education setting or other related fields.
Excellent judgment with the ability to manage highly sensitive and confidential information. Strong skills in conflict resolution, problem-solving, interviewing, and investigation. Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess and negotiate complex, highly sensitive situations.
Excellent written and oral communication skills, including writing concise, logical analytical reports to convey complex issues and the ability to present training topics to multiple audiences.
Excellent critical thinking skills, including the demonstrated ability to analyze information, evaluate results, and facilitate the resolution of complex challenges while maintaining strict confidentiality and sensitivity.
Excellent interpersonal skills, including the demonstrated ability to listen well and demonstrate sensitivity to and respect for individual needs. Ability to maintain neutrality and work under stress. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally across multiple constituencies to resolve complaints in a neutral, sensitive manner.
Demonstrated knowledge of nondiscrimination laws and compliance regulations (including Title IX, Title VII, the Clery Act, VAWA, and FERPA) and due process protections as they apply to Student Conduct policies.
Must be well versed in quality data collection to ensure adequacy, accuracy, and legitimacy of data in Institute systems and be able to strictly follow data privacy and security procedures for data handling and analysis to ensure adherence to legal and institutional standards.
Experience organizing and conducting prompt, effective, neutral, and trauma-informed investigations; communication with and assurance of support to reporting parties, responding parties, and witnesses;
Proven ability to mediate and resolve conflicts when appropriate; make practical recommendations for management action or additional adjudication; and present information to senior administrators.
Demonstrated proficiency with conduct software (i.e. Maxient) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
Demonstrated skills as an advocate and champion for diversity, equity, inclusivity, and social justice, and a willingness to stand up for these values.
Preferred Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree, or other advanced degree from an accredited institution of higher education.
Two (2) or more years of management or supervisory experience.
Professional experience conducting investigations in a college setting.
Title IX, DEI, Restorative Justice, Conflict Resolution-related training or certification through a nationally recognized organization.
Understanding of the needs of the student population, with specific ability to be relatable to and be approachable to students at all times.
In-depth knowledge of the legal implications of Title IX, other sexual assault prevention legislation/policy, Affirmative Action, and Title VII.
