Position Summary:
Reporting to the Vice President for Student Affairs, the Assistant Dean leads the student sexual and related misconduct prevention and education efforts within the Division of Student Affairs. They serve as the student conduct hearing officer for student sexual and related misconduct cases on Fordham's multiple campuses.
Essential Functions:
Develops and coordinates student sexual and related misconduct prevention and education efforts and initiatives for students and staff.
Serves as the primary student conduct hearing officer for all cases involving student sexual and related misconduct, utilizing the University's single adjudicator conduct process.
Ensures a timely, well-documented, and impartial student conduct process, adhering to all relevant New York State and federal laws and regulations.
Collaborates closely with the Deans of Students and Offices of Residential Life to oversee the supervision and assignment of trained Administrative Support Persons (ASPs) for conducting investigations and managing conduct processes.
Conducts education and training programs related to the student sexual and related misconduct process for ASPs, Resident Directors, Resident Assistants, hearing officers, and appeal panels.
Establishes and maintains an accurate tracking system for all student sexual and related misconduct reports, ensuring appropriate follow-up actions, and submits data promptly to the Director of Gender Equity/Title IX Coordinator to comply with NYS and federal laws.
Assists in the periodic review and updating of the Fordham Sexual and Related Misconduct Policy and Procedures in alignment with state and federal regulations.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree
Minimum of 3 years of related experience in the areas of sexual and related misconduct investigations and/or student conduct.
Demonstrated knowledge of current state and federal laws and regulations related to Title IX, Campus SAVE Act, Clery Act, and VAWA.
Preferred Qualifications:
Master's degree in higher education or a related field.
