Detailed Job Description Administrative Support for DSO office and Test Center. Specific responsibilities include:
Managing the shared DSO and DSOx inboxes and phone lines, including maintaining case notes for all interactions
Managing calendars for the Director and Associate Director
Responding to complex customer service outreach escalated from student employees
Overseeing outreach programming for prospective accommodation recipients (S37s)Coordinating event logistics
Representing DSO at tabling events
Managing and ordering supplies,
Providing general support to members of the DSO team
Financial and Budgetary Responsibilities:
Record and reconcile day-to-day budget activity using online accounting system and related departmental systems as well as budgets for grants and other department funding sources.
Prepare budget reports for the department and assist with budget planning.
Facilitate Reader's Aid reimbursement process with Associate Director.
Student Disability Documentation Review:
Via a consistent and thorough process focused on understanding the individual needs of students, review supporting documentation submitted with accommodation applications and document critical information therein for use by Access Coordinators.
Request and review associated applications and documentation as needed to perform this function.
Support Access Coordinators in the documentation attainment and student registration process.
Demonstrate independent judgment and decision-making consistent with the goals and philosophy of the Disability Services Office.
Record-Keeping:
Maintain timely and comprehensive records documenting all interactions with students, faculty, and staff, as well as the rationale for specific accommodation decisions.
Maintain appropriate confidentiality in all forms of communication, in compliance with FERPA, campus, and departmental guidelines.

2 years of office experience including accounting practices and procedures; support of colleagues; and interface with the public
Associate's degree or equivalent experience
Skills:
Strong organizational skills, with emphasis on accuracy, attention to detail, timeliness, and appropriate handling of private and confidential information.
Strong interpersonal communication skills across multiple platforms and modalities, including the ability to convey complex information in accessible and meaningful terms to diverse audiences.
Commitment to high quality customer service, including responding to inquiries with accuracy, clarity, detail, resourcefulness, and thoughtfulness.
High level of comfort and fluency with computer applications and workplace technology, with particular emphasis on Microsoft Office Suite and Google Drive. Ability to effectively manage and coordinate schedules, manage databases, and oversee timekeeping for student employees.
Ability to manage and maintain confidential and private information and records; uses confidential, sensitive and/or private records and information, protects information appropriately. Working knowledge of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) and its impact on access to student information.
Ability to establish, build and maintain effective working relationships based on respect, empathy and honesty with diverse groups and individuals.
Comfort with working independently, including the ability to exercise creativity and problem solving skills.
Ability to purchase and manage supplies and equipment
Ability to run and reconcile monthly department budget reports
Strong commitment to ongoing learning and professional development as related to disability and equity in higher education, and customer service in a higher education environment.
