Information Desk / Test Center Assistant, Part-time (29 hours per week) at the Clinton campus.
REPORTINGRELATIONSHIP:

POSITIONSUMMARY:
Responsible for operating switchboard/reception area, provides designated information to students and the general public. Assists faculty with clerical classroom needs as assigned. Proctors tests in Testing Center.
MINIMUMQUALIFICATIONS:
Person filling this position must be a high school graduate or equivalent and have two years secretarial experience. Computer skills and a general knowledge of office equipment and procedures is desirable. Must be able to establish and maintain good working relationships with staff, students and the general public; have a clear speaking voice, and be flexible in handling several tasks at a time.
TYPICALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIES:
Operates Information Desk/Receptionist area:
Receiving and placing calls.
Routes calls accurately and efficiently.
Greets and directs visitors.
Gives information in response to inquiries and forwards messages as needed.
Reports telephone or connection disorders to both Help Desk and supervisor.
Keeps an up-to-date list of staff and numbers.
Maintain switchboard manual with up-to-date information which would be available for any relief operators and work-studies.
Administers and monitors tests to students requested by college faculty. Is responsible for maintaining an orderly atmosphere conducive to a testing environment along with providing strict security of tests at all times.
Maintains record of usage and scheduling of the Testing Center. Proctors exams for all students.
Utilizes college student management system, Ellucian Colleague, for student information purposes and/or provide general assistance for student service areas.
Assists with processing credit tuition payments.
Main campus contact with registering continuing education and processing all non-credits payments.
Assists faculty with clerical classroom requests.
Handles locker requests from students.
Manages and maintains calendar of events and room scheduling on campus.
Main contact for external vendor facility usage.
Processes schedules vehicle reservation requests.
Sorts incoming and outgoing USPS mail.
Prepares outgoing mail per mailing service instructions.
Committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers.
Performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.
Required Qualification:
An Associate Degree required. Must have outstanding verbal and written communication skills. Minimum of two years of customer service experience required, preferably in an educational institution. Ability to work effectively with a diverse population. Excellent interpersonal skills critical. Proficiency in data entry, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word required. Knowledge of or ability to quickly master EICC software systems, including Ellucian Colleague, important. Must be able to work some flexible hours including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
