JOB PURPOSE:
Reporting to the Assistant Director, Alumni and Family Engagement, this position assists with the successful development, implementation, and management of an annual calendar of events and opportunities for Pomona College alumni, families, and students that deepen the College’s relationship with these important constituencies. This position will create key partnerships and design and plan essential programs and events in the College community with the goal to increase overall participation and financial support from alumni, parents, and friends of Pomona College.
This position is a key member of the Alumni and Family Engagement team. This work is accomplished in collaboration and in partnership with other relationship builders across the Advancement Division, including Major Gifts, Leadership and Reunion Giving, Advancement Services, Advancement Communications and Events and Annual Giving; as well as other colleagues across the College, including Career Development Office, Admissions, and Student Affairs.
QUALIFICATIONS: Education: Bachelor’s degree is preferred. High School Diploma or GED required.
Experience:
Minimum of 1-2 years event production, constituent engagement, volunteer management, or development support experience, preferably in a higher education setting.
Demonstrated knowledge, understanding of, and proficiency in, the areas of office practices and procedures; word processing, databases, spreadsheet, email; office equipment use and maintenance; telephone etiquette; letter and report writing, proofreading; correct English grammar, usage, rhetoric, and spelling
Experience in performing complex and concurrent tasks involving independent judgment and requiring speed and accuracy; diplomacy balanced with assertiveness in supervising a diverse staff; handling confidential information; effective organizational/administrative abilities including proficiency in planning and prioritizing.
ADDITIONAL POSITION DETAILS: The hourly rate for this role is between $22.85 and $25.00. The specific factors that the College will consider when offering a salary to an individual will include, but not be limited to: education, training, relevant prior experience, and performance in prior roles.
