Summary of Position: Under the direction of the Assistant Dean for Student Affairs, the mentor coordinator will work collaboratively with mentor program leads to facilitate the development and implementation of the various mentoring programs within the College of Pharmacy. The mentor coordinator works to clearly articulate the objectives and expectations, mentoring approaches and develops training materials for the different mentoring programs. The mentor coordinator works to ensure program quality and performance related to recruiting, screening, matching, and monitoring the relationship with the mentor and mentee. The mentor coordinator uses multiple approaches to communicate with stakeholders, including but not limited to the Mentor Collective platform, website, briefing or training meetings with mentees or mentors, and focus groups with stakeholders to seek feedback on the program which can be used as part of the continuous quality improvement.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities: 10% Development Mentoring Program Framework -Works collaboratively with program leads to communicate the goals, expectations and approaches for each mentoring program; clearly articulating the target audience, differences between programs and expected outcomes -Uses multimodal communication approaches to reach and cultivate relationships with a diverse group of mentees and mentors. -Codifies policies and procedures for each of the mentoring programs
20% Mentor Platform
-Work with program leads and staff to support implementation of the mentoring software platform -Develop policies and procedures as well as training materials on the use of the software platform -Work with others to load mentees and mentors into the software platform. following the consent of each party
30% Recruitment of Mentors and Training -Under the direction of the mentor program leads, identify mentor responsibilities for each program -Collaborate with Office of Student Service, Career Services, Alumni Affairs, Admissions, as well as faculty and staff in the College to identify mentors and design training materials -Advertise and recruit mentors for each of the programs -Develop mentor training materials on how to support and mentor individuals with different perspectives, experience, how to have difficult conversations, mentee/mentor requirements for each program, etc. If needed and provide training to mentors -Serve as a communication liaison between mentors and program leads, as needed
15% Assist with Mentor-Mentee Matching via Software Platform or other means, dependent on the program
10% Mentoring Pre-Pharmacy Students -Mentor pre-pharmacy students and pharmacy technicians using both cohort and individual mentoring models.
10% Program evaluation and quality improvement -Track and evaluate each of the programs, including feedback from mentors and mentees, the outcomes of the program. -Utilize assessment information to continually improve the program.
5% Miscellaneous -Professional development, including assisting others on the team with development as needed.

Required Qualifications: -BA/BS with 4 years of experience or a combination or related education and work experience to equal 8 years. -Experience implementing and overseeing higher educational and/or mentoring programs -A demonstrated commitment to Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
Preferred Qualifications: -Graduate degree and 2 years of experience -Pharmacy experience; understanding of the various career options for pharmacists -Experience serving as a mentor -Leadership experience -Experience in program evaluation -Experience supporting student development and professional identity formation -Experience working with professional pharmacy organizations -Formal training in Diversity, Equity and Inclusion
