The PT Career Advising Specialist reports to the Associate Dean of Academic and Career Pathways and is responsible for the overall delivery of career-related services at the college. This includes providing comprehensive services and resources that enable students to take active responsibility for their career decisions and job search; equipping students with skills and knowledge to make career plans and choose majors or programs of study based on their work-related strengths, interests, and values. This position also works to equip students with the necessary skills to create professional resumes and cover letters, launch job searches, and prepare for interviews. The Career Advising Specialist will also assist with programming for the Career Center and do Career and Employment Services outreach via classroom visits and campus-wide workshops. The Career Advising Specialist will provide direct support in the development, progression, and completion of students’ educational and career goals by providing career counseling, while also making appropriate handoffs to the Academic Advising Team or Academic Success Coach team.

Bachelor’s degree required from a regionally accredited institution of higher education
Ability to work in an ever-changing, fast-paced, team-oriented environment
Demonstrated experience in career advising or career-related services
Two years of higher education academic advising experience
Career and Employment Services experience in higher education
Global Career Development Facilitator (GCDF) certification
