The Center of Global Education at the College of Saint Benedict and Saint John's University invite applicants for the full-time, benefit eligible position of Manager of Global Programs.
The Manager of Global Programs will manage a portfolio of Education Abroad semester and short-term programs. This position will maintain policies and procedures to promote the success, health, and safety of participants on Education Abroad programs. The Manager of Global Programs will be responsible for developing collaborative relationships with international and campus partners while supporting CSB and SJU’s global engagement and internationalization efforts.
College of Saint Benedict (CSB), a liberal arts college for women; Saint John’s University (SJU), a liberal arts college for men; a graduate School of Theology; and graduate Nursing programs for both men and women. The campuses are located in the central lakes area of Minnesota, surrounded by more than 3,000 acres of pristine forests, prairies, and lakes. The campuses are minutes away from the St. Cloud area, an increasingly diverse regional center with a population of more than 100,000, and 70 miles from Minneapolis and St. Paul. Some CSB and SJU faculty and staff choose to reside locally, while others commute from the Twin Cities. With a total enrollment of approximately 3,000 students, faculty members develop relationships with students in small classroom settings and have opportunities to work closely with students on research projects, experiential learning experiences, and study abroad programs. Recent initiatives to create a dynamic general education curriculum and a new teaching and learning center demonstrate strong institutional support for faculty development. Responsibilities
Program Management (70%)
Manage a portfolio of Education Abroad semester and short-term programs, including:
Academic, housing, and health/safety standards
Contract negotiation and partner agreements
Budget management
Visa procurement
Program evaluation and assessment
Student program application process
CSB and SJU Faculty Director and student communication
Create and facilitate student programming and support related to Education Abroad programs, including:
Develop and implement marketing plans and conduct outreach efforts, including print and online materials and campus events
Coordinate pre-departure advising and orientation, including large group and individual advising sessions
Coordinate re-entry programming for directors and students on semester programs
Manage and coordinate on-line application cycle for Education Abroad programs
Advise students on Education Abroad programs and guide students to integrate their global experience with their academic, professional, and personal development
Collaborative Partnership Building (20%)
Develop and maintain relationships with international program partners, including conducting international site visits
Support CSB and SJU Faculty Directors through the cycle of Education Abroad programs including orientation, program abroad, and re-entry
Participate in professional development opportunities to enhance skills and to stay current with trends in the global education field
Represent CSB and SJU in external international education conferences, associations, and organizations
Health & Safety Compliance (10%)
Maintain policies and procedures to promote the success, health, and safety of Education Abroad program participants
Partner with the Director and the Associate Director to respond to issues and problems as they arise during Education Abroad programs
Bachelor’s degree
Professional experience in an international programs office or experience working abroad
Knowledge of and experience with international education best practices, and trends, preferably related to college or university populations
Demonstrated communication and organizational skills
Experience with Excel and budget management
Ability to coordinate work with others as part of a team
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with Excel and budget management
Experience with study abroad application management systems
Physical Requirements: No lifting, prolong sitting and computer work, occasional standing. Travel Requirements: Position requires the ability to travel both domestically and internationally for up to a total of three weeks each year.
