This position is a 12-month live-on position reporting to the Associate Director of Residence Life. The primary responsibilities of this position include Occupancy Management: roommate assignments, key inventories, room condition reports, roommate changes for students in UNCSA’s high school, college, and summer intensive programs; additional responsibilities include serving in the Student Affairs on-call rotation.
Coordination of Student Housing Assignments
Coordinate housing selection, room and roommate assignment for high school, college and summer intensive students.
Facilitate the housing sign up process for high school and college students for the next academic semester and summer intensive program.
Work with Housing Operations and Student Accounts assessing of fees/penalties related to housing assignment changes, damages, etc.
Coordinate StarRez trainings for Resident Assistants, Residence Life and Student Affairs staff.
Manage StarRez housing software for Residence Life and other campus stakeholders.
Oversee all aspects of the student housing process including but not limited to: room change, damage appeals, application for release from college housing, roommate agreement, room condition report, health and safety inspection, housing application, check-in and check-out processes.
Ensure all housing records remain current for monthly occupancy reports and identifying key data for UNCSA housing trends.
Ensure all documents and information (i.e. housing and dining contract, etc.) on the university website are current and available to students and their families.
Leads the Residence Life team through the check-in and check-out process for all residential students and ensures students receive relevant and timely communication.
Responsible for the end-of-year key inventory and replacement process for Moore Hall, Sanford Hall, Center Stage Apartments, and Artist Village.
Oversees health and safety inspections administered by Residence Life staff including the room condition reporting process.
Provides input to Student Affairs leadership on policies related to student housing.
Responsible for the development, distribution and analysis of the annual Housing Quality of Life Survey.
Maintain a high level of student contact, availability and visibility by spending time in the college residential area and remaining available to students for informal interactions, administrative services, formal mediation/conflict resolution, problem solving, advising, role modeling, etc.
Serve as Building Access Coordinator (BAC) for Moore and Sanford Halls, Center Stage, and Artist Village, & Hanes Student Commons.
Residential Education & Support
Regularly serve in the College On-Call rotation schedule.
Support the recruitment, selection, training and continued development of the Resident Assistant (RA) staff through spring and fall trainings, on-going staff development opportunities, and other enrichment activities.
Create avenues for consistent communication with the Residence Life and Housing Operations staff and residential students (i.e. email correspondence, newsletters, duty schedules, etc.)
Represent Residence Life on campus initiatives including, but not limited to, Office of Admissions (Open House, new student inquiries), Student Engagement (New Student Orientation), Housing Operations (maintenance/housekeeping), Strategic Communications (marketing and promotions).
Attend all required departmental meetings, in-service trainings, staff development opportunities, and campus meetings.
Assist with various residential education as determined by Associate Director of Residence Life.
Bachelor’s and at least 3 years experience – (experience combination of college experience, work with a minor in summer camp/residential boarding school, and software applications).
